Box ScoreHarrison, N.Y. -- The Fordham men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to Saint Louis in conference play on Sunday evening at Life Time Athletic Center. With the loss, the Rams drop to 4-5 on the season and 0-2 in A-10 play, while the Bilikens improve to 10-2 overall. It was the final indoor home contest of the season; Fordham will host Drew on March 19 at the Hawthorn/Rooney Tennis Courts.
Saint Louis grabbed the doubles point with three straight victories to begin the evening. The #1 doubles team of
Victor Li and
Nick Borak fell to Juan Calero and John Nogalski, 7-6 (7-1), before the duo of
Tomas Cosmai and
Joseph Kavaloski dropped a 7-6 (7-6) to David Farragut and Charlie Parry. With the point in hand, Paarth Dodhiawala and Miguel Flores defeated
Cameron Posillico and
Harris Durkovic, 6-0. For the latter two teams it was the first time they had played together this season.
Kavaloski's 6-2, 6-2 loss to Dodhiawala in #5 singles preceded Posillico's 6-0, 6-2 defeat at the hands of doubles opponent Flores to give the Bilikens a 3-0 lead. Charlie Parry clinched the road win for Saint Louis with a 6-1, 6-3 win over
Nick Borak before
Victor Li got the Rams' lone point with a 6-2, 6-4 defeat of Nogalski. Juan Calero's 6-1, 7-6 (7-2) victory over
Pedro Alonso and David Ferragut's tough 7-6 (7-2), 7-5 win over Cosmai in #1 singles rounded out the night's action.
Fordham returns to the road to take on Hofstra next Sunday, March 13, at 3 p.m.
