Box ScoreTeaneck, N.J. – The Fordham women's tennis team rebounded from a 5-2 loss to Albany with a win at nearby Fairleigh Dickinson University by the same score. The Rams are now 8-3 on the season.
Fordham and FDU split first and second doubles but the Rams took the point by default.
Mayu Sato and
Estelle Wong once again teamed up in first doubles but were defeated by Gisela Castany and Shreya Pasricha, 6-4, before
Hannah Drayton and
Gianna Insogna downed Nicole Chis and Katarina Pavlovic, 7-6 (7-1).
Chis avenged her doubles defeat with a 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 win over Wong in first position, while Sato avenged her own tandem loss with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Castany. Pasricha was the lone player on the day to win both her matches with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Drayton, but Fordham got the victory when Fordham won fifth and sixth singles by default and
Alexis Zobeideh downed Sabrina Helm, 6-0, 6-0 to clinch the match.
The Rams are back in action Saturday, April 2, against Duquesne at a neutral site in Philadelphia. The match is slated to begin at 1 p.m.
