Posillico Named Men's Tennis Rookie of the Week

New York, N.Y. – Fordham men's tennis sophomore Cameron Posillico has been named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week the league announced on Tuesday afternoon. The honor is for the matches played between March 16-21. Posillico, a sophomore, is eligible for the award because it is his first year as a collegiate tennis player.
 
Posillico clinched Fordham's match at Hofstra last Saturday afternoon with a 6-4, 7-5 victory in #6 singles and carried that momentum into this Saturday's gritty 6-3, 6-7 (5-7), 10-3 singles win from the fourth position. The result marks the first back-to-back wins in Posillico's young career.
 
The honor is the fourth of Fordham's season thus far. Tomas Cosmai previously won Player of the Week in early February, while Victor Li has taken home the Rookie honor twice.
 
The Rams are back in action next Wednesday afternoon for a 3:30 p.m. bout at Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass.
