Box ScoreKissimmee, Fla. – The Fordham women's tennis team kicked off its Florida swing with a 4-1 victory on Friday afternoon over Quinnipiac. With the win, the Rams improve to 5-2 and have now won three straight, while the Bobcats fall to 6-9 overall.

Quinnipiac won the doubles point with two victories but the Rams rattled off four straight singles victories, with the other two ending unfinished, to give Fordham the 4-1 result.

Sydney Young and Rachel Horton downed
Mayu Sato and
Hannah Drayton, 6-2, in #1 doubles, while Sophia Dzulynsky and Sitilia Renchali beat
Estelle Wong and
Gianna Insogna, 6-1, to earn the point. The #3 doubles match ended 4-2 in favor of Quinnipiac.

Wong's #2 singles victory over Horton, 6-0, 6-2, was the first to finish, followed by Sato's 6-2, 6-4, win over Dzulynsky.
Alexis Zobeideh got the Rams within one point with her 6-1, 4-6, 10-6 defeat of Young.
Hannah Drayton clinched the match with a 6-4, 3-6, 10-7 result over Renchali.

With the results, the Rams are now .529 in singles play (54-48) this season, and, despite the losses, are 38-27 overall in doubles action (.585).

Fordham has two days off before facing Atlantic 10 foe Rhode Island on Monday, March 21, at 12:30 p.m. The following day, the Rams will play Bethune-Cookman University at 1 p.m.
