Photo Gallery Competition at the 2016 Atlantic 10 Championship has concluded at the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio, with the Fordham women's swimming and diving team finishing fifth out of 11 teams. The Rams scored 392 points for the Championship.
The best performance on the final night of competition came from junior
Megan Polaha, who won her second event of the Championship, winning the 200 butterfly event in a school and Atlantic 10 record time of 1:58.46. The time was also an NCAA "B" cut time.
Junior
Kalena Laurent joined Polaha as a scorer in the 200 butterfly, as she placed 9
th in the event, winning the "B" final in 2:04.04.
Polaha wasn't the only record breaker on Saturday, as senior
Chandler Lulley medaled for the first time as an individual at the Championship, taking third in the 100 freestyle in a school record time of 50.24 seconds. Her sister, senior
Shannon Lulley, joined in the scoring, placing seventh in the event in 50.67 seconds, as well as freshman
Tara Brunner, who was 16
th in 52.31 seconds.
Chandler Lulley took bronze in the 100 freestyle on Saturday. In the 200 backstroke, senior
Theresa Goehring tied her best-ever finish, grabbing fifth in 2:01.96, while junior
Morgan Fairclough was 15
th overall in 2:03.91.
Fordham also scored individually in the 200 breaststroke and three-meter diving events. Junior
Marie Feneron and senior
Anna Marshall placed 11
th (2:19.73) and 13
th (2:20.93), respectively in the 200 breaststroke event, while sophomores
Wendy Espina-Esquivel (249.65) and
Natalie Wodniak (203.15) grabbed fifth and 15
th in the three-meter diving competition.
The only individual event Fordham did not score in was the 1650 freestyle, where sophomore
Erin McBride finished 18
th overall in 17:33.79.
The final event of the Championship was the 400 freestyle relay, where the Lulleys joined Brunner and
Megan Gray to finish fifth overall in 3:24.88.
