Photo GalleryThe Fordham men's swimming & diving team continued competition at the 2016 Atlantic 10 Championship on Thursday at the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
Following day two, the Rams remain in eighth place with 46 points.
The Rams had one finalist on day two, as senior
Steve Sholdra posted the top preliminary time in the 500 freestyle at 4:28.29. In the final, Sholdra bettered that mark with a school record time of 4:26.27, besting his own mark set earlier this season, to finish third overall with a bronze medal.
In the other men's events on day two,
Chris Viera was the top performer in the 200 individual medley event, placing 23
rd in 1:53.92, and was quickly followed by
Connor Griffin in 24
th (1:54.65) and
Robert Simkins in 31
st (1:56.44).

Jack Madigan had the Rams' best time, taking 31
st in 21.47 seconds.
Scott Brown and
Matt Luther tied for 33
rd at 21.63 seconds, followed by
Tommy Christensen in 37
th (21.76),
John Furlong in 38
th (21.79), and
Alex Tunaru in 47
th (23.35).
Action continues at the 2016 Atlantic 10 Championship on Friday, beginning at 10:00 AM with the preliminaries of the 400 individual medley, the 100 butterfly, the 200 freestyle, the 100 breaststroke, the 100 backstroke, and the men's three meter dive. Finals for those events plus the 400 medley relay start at 6:30 PM.
