Results

BOSTON – The Fordham men's track & field team competed at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Saturday and enjoyed three IC4A qualifying times among nine career-best times. Following the impressive display by the Fordham women's squad yesterday, the men answered in full.

Highlighted by Jordan Allen's IC4A-qualifying time in his 200 meter debut alongside Jared Benn and Sean Phillips' career-bests in their respective races, the Rams experienced numerous personal marks on Saturday.

Ryan Riviere, the lone Ram to participate in a field event, tied for 18th overall with a 14' 3.25" pole vault.

Two Rams, Louis Santelli and Patrick Dineen, participated in the 800 meter run and both set new career-best times with 1:55.11 and 1:58.76 finishes, respectively. Freshman Eddie Dehais ran in the 400 meter dash and crossed in a personal-best 50.67 seconds, good for 105th overall.

In the 1,000 meter, Fritz Heinrich set a new personal record with a 2:30.46 finish, good for 25th, and was followed by Michael Campbell, who crossed in 2:35.11, good for 59th overall.

Jared Benn kicked off the Rams' IC4A qualifying with a 1:03.44 time in the 500 meter race, which earned the freshman a third place overall finish. Jordan Allen made the most of his debut in the 200 meter dash with an IC4A-qualifying time of 22.22.

Sean Phillips rounded out the Fordham men's IC4A qualifying times on Saturday with a 4:13.37 time in the mile, good for 53rd overall. Sophomore Thomas Slattery missed the regional time by one second, finishing 62nd with a 4:14.51 time. Brian Cook finished 75th overall in 4:15.67, Nik O'Brien one spot behind in 76th in 4:15.70, while Mike Turi and Quincy O'Connor crossed 99th and 128th in 4:18.44 and 4:20.57, respectively.

Fordham had two quartets compete in the 4x400 meter relay. The Rams' 'A' squad nearly qualified for an IC4A time by one second – Dehais, Benn, Santelli, and Allen finished 21st overall in 3:20.51. The team of Phillips, Dineen, Cook, and Heinrich finished 49th overall in 3:31.08.

The Rams now prepare for the Atlantic-10 Championship. The two-day event will be hosted by Rhode Island and will begin next Saturday, February 20th, at 9 a.m.
