Joseph Chartouny was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week for games played from January 25-31, it was announced today. The award is the fourth overall rookie of the week honor for Chartouny.
In a pair of games on the week, Chartouny averaged 13.5 ppg and 7.5 rpg while also dishing out nine assists. His best effort was an 18-point, ten-rebound game on Saturday at UMass as Chartouny led the Rams to a 78-72 overtime Atlantic 10 win in Amherst with his third double-double of the year. He also tied his season-high with seven assists against the Minutemen while shooting 6-for-9 from the field as Fordham snapped a seven-game Atlantic 10 road losing streak.
On the year, Chartouny is averaging 9.7 ppg and 6.1 rpg while recording a team-high 76 assists to go with 34 steals. He is second in the Atlantic 10 in assists (5.1/game) and steals (2.4/game) while also ranking ninth in assist/turnover ratio (1.9) and tied for 16th in rebounding.
The Rams, 12-8 overall on the year, 3-6 in the Atlantic 10, return to action on Saturday afternoon, February 6, as they host the Saint Joseph's University Hawks in an Atlantic 10 contest in the historic Rose Hill Gym at 2:00 p.m.
