Bronx, N.Y. – For the third straight day, Fordham University junior running back Chase Edmonds picked up an All-America honor, being named to the 2016 FCS ADA All-America team it was announced today. Yesterday, Edmonds was named a first team STATS FCS All-American while on Monday he was named to the 2016 Walter Camp Football Championship Subdivision All-America team as well as being named first team AFCA FCS Coaches All-America. Last week, Edmonds was named a first team Associated Press NCAA FCS All-American.

Edmonds, the lone Patriot League representative to be named to the FCS ADA All-America team, becomes Fordham's first consensus first team All-American since Javarus Dudley in 2003.

The FCS ADA All-America team recognizes the top student-athletes from FCS institutions at 11 different positions. The 2016 class includes student-athletes from 11 different institutions, representing six different conferences. Voting was conducted by a national panel, consisting of media and SIDs.

"The FCS ADA is very proud of the accomplishments in the classroom, in the community and on the field of these football student-athletes that have earned this wonderful recognition," stated FCS ADA President Mark Wilson, director of athletics, Tennessee Tech University. "It is my honor to congratulate them on behalf of the Association's Officers, Executive Committee and the entire FCS membership as we recognize their outstanding achievements."

Edmonds, a First Team All-Patriot League and ECAC All-Star selection this fall, rushed 257 times for 1,799 yards and 19 touchdowns. He leads the NCAA FCS in rushing yards and rushing yards per game (163.5) as well as ranking second in all-purpose yards per game (194.6) and third in rushing touchdowns. The 1,799 yards is just 39 yards shy of Edmonds' school single season record set in 2014.

Against Lafayette on October 8, Edmonds rushed for a school and Patriot League record 359 yards (the most by an NCAA Division I player this year) on just 17 carries, averaging 21.1 yards per carry, setting an NCAA FCS record for most yards gained per rush in a game. The former mark was 19.07 set by VMI's Gene Brown in 1988. Edmonds surpassed his own school and Patriot League record of 347 yards, set last year against Lehigh.

For the second straight year, Edmonds finished fourth in voting for the Walter Payton Award, presented annually to the NCAA FCS most outstanding offensive player.

Over his three-year career, Edmonds has rushed for a school record 5,285 yards, just 336 yards shy of Jordan Scott's Patriot League career record of 5,621 yards. He has 62 career rushing touchdowns and 69 overall career touchdowns, both school and Patriot League records. He also holds the school and Patriot League scoring marks with 414 career points.

The Rams closed out the season with an 8-3 overall record, 5-1 in the Patriot League. It is Fordham's fourth straight winning season, the first time the Rams have posted four consecutive winning campaigns since 1976-1979.
