Atlantic 10 All-Conference Teams

Newport News, Va. – Just a day before the start of the Atlantic 10 Championship, the conference released its All-Conference men's soccer teams and major award winners on Wednesday, as voted upon by the league's coaches.  Six Rams heard their names called in the release, led by sophomore forward Janos Loebe (Kierspe, Germany), who was named the league's Offensive Player of the Year and First Team All-Atlantic 10.

In addition to Janos, junior midfielder Jannik Loebe (Kierspe, Germany) was also named First Team All-Atlantic 10 with junior defender Matthew Lewis (Kansas City, Mo.) and sophomore goalkeeper Rashid Nuhu (Accra, Ghana) being named Second Team All-Atlantic 10.  Freshman defender Joergen Oland (Drammen, Norway) was among those listed on the conference's All-Rookie Team and junior midfielder Eric Ohlendorf (Merrick, N.Y.) was voted to the Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team, as voted upon by the conference's sports information directors.

The six players honored are the most for Fordham, since 2011, when seven players were selected to the All-Conference teams.

Janos Loebe, who was Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year last season, joins Fordham alum John Wolyniec as the only Rams to be named Offensive Player of the Year in the Atlantic 10. (Note: Wolyniec was named Player of the Year in 1998, as the league separated the award into offensive and defensive awards in 2000.)

Janos was named Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Week twice this season, and led Fordham in scoring with six goals and six assists for 18 points, setting personal-best in all of those categories.  He led the Atlantic 10 in shots (65), while ranking second in assists, third in points, and sixth in goals.  In league play, he notched four assists to lead the league to go with three goals.

Jannik, a Second Team selection last season, moves up to First Team honors in 2016, after setting a career-high with 15 points this season on five goals and five assists.  A Preseason All-Conference selection, he notched two game-winning goals this season, and tied for eighth in the league in points, ninth in goals, and fifth in assists.

Lewis earns Second Team All-Atlantic 10 honors for the second straight season.  A Preseason All-Conference selection, he played all but 82 minutes this season, helping Fordham rank third in the Atlantic 10 in team goals against average at 0.99.  He also added some offense, netting a career-high three goals this year.

Nuhu, an All-Rookie Team selection a year ago, ranked fourth in the Atlantic 10 in goals against average (0.88), seventh in save percentage (.770), sixth in saves (47), and eighth in shutouts (4).  In league play, Nuhu stepped up his game, allowing five goals in seven games for a 0.70 GAA to go with three shutouts and a .792 save percentage.
