Bridgeport, Pa. – Major Awards and All-Conference selections for the Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference were released today, with two Rams earning MAWPC All-East-Division honors. Senior
R.J. Simmons (Irvine, Calif.) was named First Team MAWPC All-East Division, while freshman
Jake Miller-Tolt (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) earned Second Team honors.
Simmons, a 2014 Second Team All-Northern Division selection, had an outstanding senior campaign, starting all 26 contests for the Rams, helping them to the #4 seed at this weekend's MAWPC Championship. He led Fordham in extra-man goals with 18 on the season, while ranking second in overall goals (42), second in points (58), fifth in assists (16), and tied for fourth in steals (34).
Miller-Tolt was named Rookie of the Week once during his inaugural campaign with Fordham. He finished the year as the team leader in most categories, including goals (57), points (83), and steals (71). He was also third in assists (26) and second in blocks (7) and ejections drawn (24).
Simmons, Miller-Tolt, and the rest of the Rams will next be in action on Friday, November 18
th, when they take part in the MAWPC Championship, held at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. Fordham will take on Wagner in its opening round contest at 4:30 PM.
