Volleyball Signs Lahr to NLI

Bronx, N.Y. – Head coach Gini Ullery and the Fordham volleyball team announced today the addition of outside hitter McKenna Lahr to the 2016 recruiting class after the high school senior signed her national letter of intent this week.
 
"We are excited to add McKenna to our program and are looking forward to her being a positive impact both on and off the court," Ullery said, "She is a competitor and will come in and bring a great presence with her ball control, attacking ability, and love for the game. She will come in and do great things alongside the full roster that we return next fall."
 
Lahr, a 5'10 outside hitter from Lindenhurst, Ill., played four years and earned four letters at Lakes Community high school in Lake Villa, Ill. under head coach Kathryn Cheek. Lahr was named First Team All-Conference honorable mention as a freshman but would earn spots on the First Team All-Conference squad her last three seasons, including serving as team captain as a senior.

 
At the club level, Lahr competed with Sky High 17 Black, placing first at Windy City Qualifiers, third in GLPL and highest finish among 17's in the 18's division, 13^th at USAV Nationals, and runner-up at the Puerto Rico Jeep Championship.
 
Academically, Lahr was a four-year High Honor Roll member and was nominated for National Honor Society as a sophomore and junior. Lahr was also a member of the yearbook club and the Student Athlete Leadership Team (SALT).
 
The Rams are coming off their most wins overall and in conference play under Ullery, featuring recently-announced Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year Olivia Fairchild along with a promising group of newcomers that saw significant playing time despite several long-term injuries. Fordham loses senior Kristen Ostach to graduation but returns the remainder of the roster.
