Bronx, N.Y. – The Fordham University men's basketball Rams open their 2016-2017 season, the 114th varsity season at Rose Hill, by traveling to Johnson City, Tennessee, to face the East Tennessee State University Buccaneers in Freedom Hall on Friday, November 11, at 7:00 PM.

The game will be streamed live on ESPN3 and can also be heard live on WFUV (90.7 FM) and on www.wfuvsports.org with Matt Moro (p-b-p) and Matt Murphy (color) announcing. Follow the links above.

Fordham enters the season after going 17-14 in 2015-2016, with an appearance in the CIT postseason tournament, while ETSU finished last winter with a 24-12 record and played in the Vegas 16 postseason tournament.

Friday night's contest will be the first ever meeting between Fordham and ETSU on the hardwood.

Notes
• Fordham head coach Jeff Neubauer has faced the Buccaneers three times, all coming in his stint at Eastern Kentucky, and is 1-2 lifetime against ETSU.

• Fordham is 2-1 against teams currently in the Southern Conference (2-0 versus Furman and 0-1 against UNC Greensboro).

• The game will be Fordham's first in the Volunteer State since the Rams participated in the Preseason NIT in Nashville in 2006, falling to Tennessee (78-71) and Belmont (56-49).

• The Rams are 3-6 all-time when playing in the state of Tennessee.

• The Rams have won two of their past three season openers, including a 94-77 win over NYIT in the Rose Hill Gym in 2014.
