Watch | Listen | Live Stats | Fordham Game Notes

Bronx, N.Y. - The Fordham University football Rams open their 2016 Patriot League schedule, the 116th varsity season at Rose Hill, by hosting the Lafayette College Leopards on Jack Coffey Field on Saturday, October 8, at 1:00 p.m.

The game will be streamed live on Campus Insiders with Ray Chapman (p-b-p) and Tom Kelleher (color) announcing and broadcast live on WFUV (90.7 FM) and on WFUVsports.org with Drew Casey (p-b-p), Pat Costello (color) and Tom Terzulli (sidelines) handling the announcing chores.

Fordham enters the game with a 2-2 record after a 42-41 overtime loss at Monmouth last Saturday while Lafayette is 1-5 on the season, 0-1 in the Patriot League, after a 38-28 league loss to Holy Cross in Easton, Pa., last Saturday.

This will be the 35th meeting between Fordham and Lafayette on the gridiron with the Leopards leading all-time series, 22-11-1. Fordham has won the past two meetings and three of the past four, including a 35-7 win on Fisher Field last year as Chase Edmonds rushed 30 times for 234 yards and two touchdowns and Kevin Anderson completed 10 of 20 passes for 149 yards and two scores.

Game-Day Parking
There are two options for parking on-campus during the 2016 season. Parking in Lot A (tailgating area) is $30 on game-day. Fans not wishing to tailgate may park in the on-campus garage for $15 on game-day. Please note that tailgating is ONLY allowed in Lot A.

A few notes on the game:

Senior linebacker George Dawson and senior punter Joe Pavlik have appeared in every game at Fordham since arriving as freshmen in 2013 (44 games). They are looking to become the Fordham career leaders in games played. The currently record is 47, set by Javarus Dudley (2000-03) and matched by Joe Sullivan (2011-14).

The Fordham captains will be Kevin Anderson, George Dawson and Joe Pavlik.

The scout team players of the week were announced following practice on Thursday:  Clayton Welsh (offense for defense), Kyvaune Brammer (defense for the offense) and Jonah Isaac (special teams).

No New York area football team has won more games since 2012 than Fordham, who has amassed 40 victories over that stretch. The closest collegiate competitors are Sacred Heart, who has 31 wins over that period, and Rutgers with 29, while the NFL's Giants have 30 and the Jets 29.

Over the past two weeks, Fordham junior running back Chase Edmonds has set two new school career scoring records. He scored his 51st career touchdown in the Penn game on September 24 to set a record (which now stands at 57) and scored his 49th career rushing touchdown at Monmouth last week to set another school mark (he currently has 52). Edmonds is second on the Fordham career rushing yards list. He needs 546 rushing yards to tie Kirwin Watson's career rushing record of 4,617 yards.

Senior quarterback Kevin Anderson threw for 3,183 yards last year, the fourth best single season in school history, in his first year as a starter. His 972 passing yards so far in 2016 brings his career mark to 4,155, seventh best in school history.

Lost among the impressive offensive numbers for the 2016 Rams is the stellar play of the defense. Fordham leads the Patriot League and is ninth in the NCAA FCS in fewest passing yards allowed/game (161.3) and leads the league and is 17th nationally in defensive passing efficiency (106.87). The Rams are also 23rd in the nation in sacks (2.75 game).
