Fordham Game Notes

Bronx, N.Y. - The Fordham University football Rams continue their 2016 Patriot League schedule, the 116th varsity season at Rose Hill, by traveling to Bethlehem, Pa., to face the Lehigh University Mountain Hawks in Goodman Stadium on Saturday, October 29, at 12:30 p.m.

The game will be streamed live on the Patriot League Network with Steve Degler (p-b-p), Mike Yadush (color) and Al DiCarlo (sidelines) announcing and broadcast live on WFUV (90.7 FM) and on WFUVsports.org with Drew Casey (p-b-p), Pat Costello (color) and Tom Terzulli (sidelines) handling the announcing chores.

Fordham enters the game with a 5-2 record, 2-0 in the Patriot League, after a 17-14 league win over Georgetown University on Jack Coffey Field last Saturday while Lehigh is 6-2 on the season, 3-0 in the conference, after a 46-14 league win over Holy Cross last Saturday in Worcester.

This will be the 29th meeting between Fordham and Lehigh on the gridiron with the Mountain Hawks lead the all-time series, which started in 1923, 23-5. Fordham has taken the past three meetings, including a 59-42 win on Jack Coffey Field last October 25 as
Chase Edmonds rushed 31 times for 347 yards and four touchdowns. Fordham is 5-12 against Lehigh since joining the Patriot League with the Mountain Hawks winning the first eight meetings.

Joe Pavlik have appeared in every game at Fordham since arriving as freshmen in 2013 (47 games). They will become the Fordham career leaders in games played in the Lehigh game. The current record is 47, set by Javarus Dudley (2000-03) and matched by Joe Sullivan (2011-14).

No New York area football team has won more games since 2012 than Fordham, who has amassed 43 victories over that stretch. The closest collegiate competitors are Sacred Heart, who has 33 wins over that period, and Rutgers with 29, while the NFL's Giants have 32 and the Jets 30.

Senior quarterback
Kevin Anderson threw for 3,183 yards last year, the fourth best single season in school history, in his first year as a starter. His 1,153 passing yards so far in 2016 brings his career mark to 4,336, sixth best in school history.

With his 179 rushing yards in the Georgetown game, junior running back
Chase Edmonds became the school's all-time leading rusher. He currently has 4,730 career rushing yards. Edmonds broke the former career mark of 4,417 yards set by Kirwin Watson from 2000-03. Edmonds also owns Fordham's career touchdown (62) and career rushing touchdown (55) records.

Chase Edmonds gained 121 rushing yards in the Yale game to bring his season total to 1,065, his third straight 1,000-yard season. He became the fastest Rams to hit the 1,000-yard mark, doing so in his sixth game of the year. In 2014 and 2015 Edmonds surpassed the 1,000-yard mark in seven games while Carlton Koonce accomplished the feat in eight games in 2012. Edmonds is the second Ram to record three 1,000-yard rushing seasons, joining Kirwan Watson who did it in 2001, 2002 and 2003.
