Â
This will be the eighth meeting between Fordham and Yale on the gridiron. The Bulldogs lead the all-time series, which started in 1950, 5-3. Â
A few notes on the game:
Â
Senior linebacker
George Dawson and senior punter
Joe Pavlik have appeared in every game at Fordham since arriving as freshmen in 2013 (45 games). They are looking to become the Fordham career leaders in games played. The currently record is 47, set by Javarus Dudley (2000-03) and matched by Joe Sullivan (2011-14).
Â
The Fordham captains will be
Kevin Anderson,
George Dawson and
Joe Pavlik.
Â
Chase Edmonds
The scout team players of the week were announced following practice on Thursday:
 Colton Smith (offense for defense),
Jeff Ginn, Jr. (defense for the offense) and
Dan Halligan (special teams).
Â
No New York area football team has won more games since 2012 than Fordham, who has amassed 41 victories over that stretch. The closest collegiate competitors are Sacred Heart, who has 31 wins over that period, and Rutgers with 29, while the NFL's Giants have 30 and the Jets 29.
Â
In the Rams' 58-34 win over Lafayette, junior running back
Chase Edmonds rushed for a Patriot League and school record 359 yards and four touchdowns. He surpassed his own Patriot League and school mark of 347 yards set last year against Lehigh. What makes Edmonds' day ever more remarkable is that he gained the 359 yards (the most by an NCAA Division I player this year) on just 17 carries, averaging 21.1 yards per carry, setting an NCAA FCS record for most yards gained per rush in a game. The former mark was 19.07 set by VMI's Gene Brown in 1988. For his exploits, Edmonds was named CFPA NCAA FCS National Player of the Wek as well as Patriot League offensive player of the week.
Â
Senior quarterback
Kevin Anderson threw for 3,183 yards last year, the fourth best single season in school history, in his first year as a starter. His 1,153 passing yards so far in 2016 brings his career mark to 4,336, sixth best in school history.
