While prepping for their opening meet of the 2016-17 season next week, the Fordham swimming & diving team is already in full swing when it comes to their community service work.

This past Saturday, the Rams were a part of the Saturdays in Motion (SIM) Swim-a-thon Fundraiser in Basking Ridge, New Jersey.  At Saturdays in Motion, children living with autism and their families join together at the Y on certain Saturdays for two hours of recreation at the Somerset Hills YMCA in Basking Ridge.

This program is run by YMCA volunteers who help monitor and guide the children through an hour of gym time and a second hour in the pool. The annual Saturdays in Motion swim-a-thon funds this program so it can continue to serve as an opportunity for autistic children to learn, grow, and have fun.

In addition to this event, the swimming & diving teams are looking forward to this Sunday's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in Central Park.

The Rams have made this an annual event, raising funds for the Making Strides program, run by the American Cancer Society.  This year, Fordham swimming & diving has already doubled its goal, raising $2,175, but there is still time to join Fordham swimming & diving's efforts!  For those interested in supporting the team, they can click here to go to the team's Making Strides page to make a donation.
