Full ResultsStaten Island, N.Y. – The Fordham Track & Field teams were in competition for the second day in a row on Saturday when they traveled out to Staten Island to the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex for the Great Dane Classic, hosted by the University of Albany. The day saw several new personal records set and some running races for the first time.

The women finished the day 15
th out of 26 programs, while the men didn't place.

The highlight of the day was
Shanna Heaney and
Kate McCormack finishing back to back, sixth and seventh, respectively, in the 1,000 meter. Heaney finished with a personal-best 2:57.39 time, while McCormack, marking her first collegiate indoor 1,000 meter run, finished in 2:58.01.

Merissa Wright placed eighth in the 500 meter in 1:16.16 ahead of teammates
Danielle Rowe (13
th – 1:16.31) and
Aidan Moroz (31
st – 1:19.56). Rounding competition out for the ladies were
Mary Kate Kenny and
Morgan Menzzasalma setting new career-best times in the 400 meter. Kenny finished 39
th overall with a 59.57 time, while Menzzasalma crossed in 1:00.48.

For the men,
Jared Benn kicked things off with a 16
th-place finish in his first indoor 500 meter race in 1:05.80.
Sean Phillips set a new personal record with a 1:58.22 finish in the 800 meter run, good for 24
th place.
Nik O'Brien and
Louis Santelli both competed in the 1,000 meter, with the former making his indoor debut in the race, and placed 17
th (2:32.30) and 29
th (2:40.49), respectively.

Thomas Slattery and
Brian Cook rounded out the day's events in the mile run. Slattery placed 14
th with a time of 4:19.88, while Cook finished 32
nd in 4:26.06.

The Rams return to the Ocean Breeze Complex next Friday for the NYC Gotham Cup. Events begin at 2 p.m.
