Bronx, N.Y. - Two hundred and forty-five days after they walked off the field following an NCAA FCS Championship game at New Hampshire, the Fordham University football squad returned to the field as the Rams opened their 2015 camp on Jack Coffey Field on Saturday.

The gridiron came alive on Saturday afternoon with the sounds of whistles blowing (but not pads hitting due to NCAA regulations), the site of players quickly moving from one drill to another and the smell of a the commencement of a new season as the Rams begin work on defending their 2014 Patriot League title.

Fourth-year head coach Joe Moorhead guided the Rams through a two-hour workout as they prepare for the 2015 season opener on September 4 when Fordham travels to West Point to take on Army West Point in Michie Stadium at 7:00 p.m.

After taking care of some administrative tasks earlier in the day, the team hit the field today for the first of five NCAA required acclimation days. The players are allowed to wear only helmets for the first two days of acclimation before donning shoulder pads for the third and fourth day and full pads for day five.
