Slattery finished 11th overall in the 5,000 meters in 15:19.47, as he went up against a number of unattached competitors as well as college runners from Oregon, Texas, Oklahoma State, Stony Brook, and Iowa State.
Â
After just missing the standard during the indoor season in January, he came back in May at the Swarthmore Final Qualifier to run 14:34.84 in the 5,000 meters, which was well under the official qualifying standard of 14:40.00.
Â
