Fordham Second Among Atlantic 10 Schools in 2014-2015 Learfield Sports Directors' Cup

Rams ranked 122 in NCAA Division I; Improve 28 spots from last year

2014-2015 Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Standings

Bronx, N.Y. – The Fordham University athletic program ranked second among the 14 Atlantic 10 Conference schools in the 2014-2015 Learfield Sports Directors' Cup standings as of June 18 it was announced at the annual National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) Convention at the World Center Marriott Resort.

Fordham compiled 128.0 points for the season, ranking behind Dayton with 198.0 points, but ahead of George Washington (89.0 points - 155th) and Massachusetts (87.0 points - 161st).
 
"This is a great honor for Fordham and a testament to the hard work put in by our student-athletes and coaches," said Dave Roach, Fordham Director of Athletics. "The improvement from last year's standings shows that Fordham student-athletes and coaches strive to get better each year and we are proud of their accomplishments, both on and off the playing fields."

The Rams' scoring was bolstered by three conference championships, men's soccer and softball in the Atlantic 10 and football in the Patriot League.

Overall, Fordham is ranked 122 of 351 NCAA Division I schools, with 282 of those institutions earning points in the Learfield Sports Directors' Cup standings. The 122 ranking is a 28-place improvement from last year when the Rams placed 150 with 103.0 points, which was also second best in the A-10, and the highest ever ranking for the Rams in the Learfield Sports Directors' Cup standings (previous best was the 150 from last year).

The Learfield Sports Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 20 sports — ten women's and ten men's.
