Michele Daubman Named Capital One Academic All-District®

The Senior Earns the Nod for the Third Straight Year

CoSIDA Release With Complete Teams

For the third year in a row, Fordham softball standout Michelle Daubman was selected to the 2015 Capital One Academic All-District® Softball Team, it was announced Thursday by the organization. The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Daubman is one of two pitcher selected to the 12-person squad in the honorees in District 1.

Capital One has been the entitlement rights holder to CoSIDA's Academic All-America teams programs since 2011.

A marketing major with a perfect 4.0 GPA, Daubman was notified Thursday she would be a co-valedictorian at graduation later this month, after pitching the Rams to a 5-1 victory over Saint Louis in the Atlantic 10 Championships. Daubman was recently named to the Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team for the third year in row and is a three-time member of the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll.

Daubman has caught fire in the circle down the stretch for the Rams, who have won a season-high nine games in row. Over her last five appearances she is 5-0 to move her overall record to 11-8. Daubman has also lowered her ERA to 3.48 and has five complete games, including three shutouts.

First-team Academic All-District ® honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month and in early June.
