Jahshire Hardnett Signs Men’s Basketball Letter of Intent at Fordham

Mississippi native averaged 22 ppg as a junior in high school

Bronx, N.Y. (May 8, 2015) - Fordham University men's basketball head coach Jeff Neubauer announced the signing of Jahshire Hardnett (Gulfport, Miss./Gulfport) to a National Letter of Intent for the 2015-2016 season.

"We're excited to welcome Jahshire Hardnett to the Fordham basketball program," said Neubauer. "He will be a great addition to our back court and has a skill set that will fit nicely with our system."

Hardnett, a 5-foot-11 guard, averaged 22.2 ppg, 4.3 rpg and 1.6 steals/game as a junior in 2013-14, leading Gulfport to the Mississippi Class 6A championship, hitting a pair of free throws with 9.3 seconds left, two of his game-high 30 points, in the title game. He was named to the Sun Herald's All-South Mississippi team and to the Clarion-Ledger's Dandy Dozen team following that season.

After moving to Arlington Day School in Jacksonville, Fla., Hardnett averaged 13 points and five rebounds per game to start his senior season before he moved back to Gulfport in January where he was unable to compete with the basketball team.

Hardnett chose Fordham over Murray State and Tulane.
