Three Football Rams Headed to NFL Camps

Dan Light signs with Kansas City; Jordan Chapman and Tebucky Jones, Jr. invited to rookie camps

Bronx, N.Y. (May 6, 2015) – Three members of the Fordham University football program are off to NFL camps as tight end Dan Light signed a free agent contract with the Kansas City Chiefs and defensive back Jordan Chapman and wide receiver Tebucky Jones, Jr. have been invited to rookie camps by the Baltimore Ravens and Tennessee Titans, respectively.

Light, the most productive pass-catching tight end in Fordham history, closed out his career by earning All-America and First Team All-Patriot League honors in 2014 as well as Second Team Academic All-America® accolades. He ranks fifth on the Fordham career receptions list (177) and eleventh in the career receiving yards list (1,594). The 2014 Danowski Award winner had 43 receptions for 385 yards with six touchdowns last fall.

Chapman, a First Team All-Patriot League selection in 2014, started all 14 games at cornerback as a senior. He finished second on team with 77 total tackles, 56 solo, including five for loss and also had eight pass breakups, third on the squad, and an interception. Chapman also returned seven kickoffs for 138 yards (19.7 yards/return).

Jones, a Beyond Sports Network All-American, ECAC All-Star and First Team All-Patriot League pick last fall, closed out Fordham career with second straight 1,000-yard receiving performance in 2014. He graduates fifth on the Fordham career receiving yards list (2,356) and sixth on the all-time Fordham receptions list (163), despite only playing for two years at Fordham after transferring from UConn. Last fall, Jones had 85 receptions for 1,202 yards, both second best on team, with a team-high 12 touchdowns. He led the Patriot League and was tenth in the NCAA FCS in receiving touchdowns (12) and was second in the league and tenth in the NCAA FCS in total receiving yards. Jones was also second in Patriot League and 37th in the NCAA FCS in receptions per game (5.6).

The three join two former Rams currently in the NFL. Isa Abdul Quddus is a four-year NFL veteran, playing his first three years with the New Orleans Saints before signing with the Detroit Lions prior to the 2014 season, while Patrick Murray served as the placekicker for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last fall, his first in the NFL. One other former Ram, quarterback John Skelton, is a member of the Montreal Alouettes of the CFL after playing for four years in the NFL.
