NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Fordham softball standout
Michele Daubman was named the Atlantic 10 Co-Pitcher of the Week, it was announced Monday by the league. She shares the honor with Dayton's Manda Cash.
Daubman tossed 14 scoreless innings last week, finishing 3-0 with two complete-game shutouts, three strikeouts and two walks while scattering 11 hits. The senior started the week with an 8-0 five-inning victory over BIG EAST leader St. John's, as she allowed three hits, walked one and fanned one. Over the weekend against George Mason, Daubman went the distance to complete Saturday's doubleheader sweep, 3-0, before coming in relief in Sunday's series finale to pitch the final two innings to help clinch the series sweep in a 1-0 nine-inning triumph.
The Rams, who are currently riding a season-high seven-game win streak, start postseason play Wednesday, May 6 in the opening round of the Atlantic 10 Tournament as the third seed. They will take on sixth-seeded St. Bonaventure at Sortino Field in Amherst, Mass. at 2:30 p.m.
