Michele Daubman Named 2015 Third Team Capital One Academic All-America®

She is One of 34 Student-Athletes to Earn Academic All-America Accolades

Official Release and Complete List of Teams

AUSTIN, Texas -- Fordham softball standout Michele Daubman was selected as a 2015 Third Team Capital One Academic All-America®, it was announced Friday by the organization. Daubman, who was one of two pitchers named to the Third Team, becomes the fourth Fordham softball player in history to earn Academic All-America honors, and it is the sixth time the program has had a student-athlete chosen as an Academic All-America.

Daubman is one of two student-athletes on the three Academic All-America teams who finished with a perfect 4.0 GPA. She graduated earlier this month with a degree in finance as the co-valedictorian and was voted to the 2015 Capital One Academic All-District® Softball Team, which allowed her to have a chance at earning All-America honors.

The former Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Year finished the season in the circle with a record of 12-9 and a 3.31 ERA over 114.1 innings of work. She appeared in 30 games, with 22 starts, went the distance five times, including three shutouts, and recorded two saves while fanning 53. Daubman's effort against James Madison in the NCAA Harrisonburg Regional eliminated the #15 overall national seed on its home field and propelled the Rams to the regional final for the second time in school history. She tossed 6.1 innings, scattered six hits, walked none and fanned two in her final appearance in the circle of her very successful four-year career.

Earlier this season, Daubman was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team for the third year in row and is a three-time member of the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll. She was also named the Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week after the final weekend of the regular season.
