Nych Smith Signs Men’s Basketball Letter of Intent at Fordham

Tennessee native averaged 27 ppg as a senior in high school

Bronx, N.Y. - Fordham University men's basketball head coach Jeff Neubauer announced the signing of Nych Smith (Memphis, Tenn./White Station) to a National Letter of Intent for the 2015-2016 season.

"Nych Smith is a great addition to our program and we are happy that he decided to join us," said Neubauer. "Nych solidifies our back court and gives us another scoring threat who can break down defenses, as well as a strong, hard-nosed defender."

Smith, a 5-11, 160 point guard from Memphis, Tennessee, played four years of basketball at White Station High School where he averaged over 27 ppg in 2014-2015 and earned AAA 2014-15 TSWA All-State Basketball Team honors. The three-star prospect was considered the fifth-best player in the state by 247Sports and the 45th best point guard in the class of 2015 by ESPN.

As a junior, Smith averaged over 12 ppg and helped White Station to a perfect 12-0 record in the conference, 30-3 overall, as the Spartans won the district title and advanced to the Region 8-AAA Championship game. White Station also won the 2013 Iolani Prep Classic in Hawaii.
