Women's Volleyball Releases 2015 Schedule

Rams to Play 14 Matches Inside the Rose Hill Gym and 31 Regular Season Contests

BRONX, N.Y. -- The Fordham women's volleyball team has released its schedule for the 2015 season, it was announced Wednesday by Head Coach Gini Ullery. Fordham is slated to play 31 contests in the regular season, including 14 in Atlantic 10 play. The Rams are scheduled to host 14 games inside the Rose Hill Gym and compete in four tournaments before the start of conference action.

"We are excited to open our season in Florida this year with three matches at Florida Gulf Coast," Ullery said. "We are challenging ourselves in nonconference to prepare us for A10-play, and we are playing multiple mid-week matches to help give us more home court opportunities. We are also excited to get alumni, family, friends and supporters of Fordham Volleyball inside the Rose Hill Gym this fall."

As mentioned above, Fordham starts the campaign off with three matches at the Florida Gulf Coast Tournament (Aug. 28-29) in Fort Myers, Fla. The Rams open with Presbyterian on that Friday at 3:30 p.m., before taking on the host Eagles at 12:30 p.m. and New Orleans at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

The home opener for Fordham is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 2 against local-rival St. Francis Brooklyn at 7 p.m., before the Rams host their annual Rose Hill Classic Labor Day weekend (Sept. 4-5). Joining Fordham in the field will be Niagara, Georgetown and Robert Morris, with play beginning Friday morning. The Rams begin Friday, Sept. 4 with Niagara at 1 p.m. and Georgetown at 7 p.m., before ending Saturday afternoon with Robert Morris at 1 p.m.

The five-match homestand ends Tuesday, Sept. 8 with the annual "Battle of the Bronx" contest against Manhattan at 7 p.m.

Fordham returns to the road Sept. 11-12 when it heads to Baltimore, Md. to participate in UMBC's Maddie Bingaman Memorial Tournament. The Rams open that Friday night against the hosts at 7 p.m. and conclude play Saturday with matches against Rider (10:30 a.m.) and Morgan State (3:30 p.m.).

A third mid-week match of the early season has Fordham making the short trip to Jersey City, N.J. to take on Saint Peter's, slated for Tuesday, Sept. 15. The Rams then conclude tournament action Sept. 18-19 at Saint Francis U's Red Flash Classic in Loretto, Pa. Fordham meets the Red Flash at 7 p.m. Friday, before playing two matches Saturday against Coppin State (11 a.m.) and High Point (4:30 p.m.).

The Rams return home Tuesday, Sept. 22 when they welcome Stony Brook inside the Rose Hill Gym for a 7 p.m. match to start a three-match homestand. Fordham then opens up conference play Friday, Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. against Davidson and concludes the stand Sunday, Sept. 27 with VCU at 1 p.m.

A trip to the western part of the league begins the October portion of the slate for the Rams. Fordham faces defending conference champion Dayton Friday, Oct. 2 at 7 p.m., before traveling further west across the Mississippi River Sunday, Oct. 4 for a 1 p.m. match against Saint Louis.

Friday, Oct. 9 marks the start of another three-match homestand for Fordham, as it begins with Duquesne at 7 p.m. La Salle comes to the Rose Hill Gym the next night (Oct. 10) for a 7 p.m. contest, and the Rams conclude the nonconference portion of their schedule when they host Lehigh Tuesday, Oct. 13 at 7 p.m.

Fordham then hits the road for three straight matches, first heading north to Kingston, R.I. to take on Rhode Island (Saturday, Oct. 17 at 5 p.m.), before traveling south for dates with George Mason (Friday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m.) and George Washington (Saturday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m.).

Return matches with Saint Louis (Friday, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m.), Dayton (Sunday, Nov. 1 at 1 p.m.) and Rhode Island (Saturday, Nov. 7 at 5 p.m.) conclude the home portion of the schedule, while two more return matches at VCU (Saturday, Nov. 14 at 1 p.m.) and Davidson (Saturday, Nov. 15 at 1 p.m.) finish off the regular season.

The Rams will look to play in the six-team Atlantic 10 Championship in Washington, D.C., which is scheduled for the weekend of Nov. 20-22.
