Fordham Football Adds Jihaad Pretlow

Former Temple defensive back to suit up for Rams in 2015

Bronx, N.Y. (May 19, 2015) – Fordham University head football coach Joe Moorhead announced today the addition of Temple transfer Jihaad Pretlow (Elizabeth, N.J./Blair Academy) to the 2015 roster.

Pretlow, who played at Temple the past two years, appeared in eleven games for the Owls last fall, starting nine, at strong safety. He finished the year with 32 total tackles, 23 solo, including one for loss. Pretlow also had a pass breakup and a forced fumble. His best game came against Memphis when he notched seven solo stops.

As a freshman at Temple in 2013, Pretlow was one of three rookies to appear in all 12 games, making 40 total tackles, seventh best on the squad. He also had four pass breakups and four pass deflections for the Owls.

A graduate of Blair Academy in Blairstown, N.J., Pretlow played running back for coach Jim Stone. He graduated a semester early (Dec. 2012) and enrolled at Temple in January of 2013. As a junior, he rushed for 838 yards and scored 19 touchdowns as the Bucs went 7-0 overall. Pretlow also intercepted four passes as a defensive back and played two seasons with the nationally ranked basketball team at Blair Academy.

The Rams open the 2015 season on Friday night, September 4, as Fordham travels to Army West Point to face the Black Knights at 7:00 PM.
