NFF ReleaseBronx, N.Y. - The National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) announced Wednesday the members of the 2015 NFF Hampshire Honor Society, which is comprised of college football players from all divisions of play who each maintained a cumulative 3.2 GPA or better throughout their college career, and three Fordham Rams were represented among the 817 student-athletes from 278 schools. Representing Fordham were
Brett Biestek,
Dan Light and
Peter Maetzold.

Biestek, who earned 2014 first team CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-America® and Patriot League Student-Athlete of the Year accolades this fall along with first team All-League honors, was mainstay on the defensive line for the Rams, recording 54 total tackles, 38 solo, including 18.0 for loss and 11.5 sacks, both team highs. He was second in the Patriot League and 35
th in the NCAA FCS in tackles for loss/game (1.4) and third in the league and 16
th in the NCAA FCS in sacks/game (0.88).

Light, who was also named second team CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-America® and first team All-Patriot League this year, is one of the top tight ends in Fordham history. He had 43 receptions for 385 yards and six touchdowns this year. Light is fourth on the Fordham career reception list (177) and tenth on the career receiving yards list (1,594).

Maetzold, who appeared in ten games as a senior, completed 74 of 105 passes (70.5 percent) for 937 yards and eight touchdowns. He came on in place of the injured
Mike Nebrich to lead the Rams to wins over Colgate, Bucknell and Georgetown, with the Bucknell win clinching the 2014 Patriot League title for the Rams.
