Sarah Ali and Estelle Wong Named All-Atlantic 10 for Women’s Tennis

Newport News, Va. – Fordham University's Sarah Ali and Estelle Wong were honored today as they were named to the All-Atlantic 10 women's tennis team it was announced by the league office. Ali was placed on the first team while Wong was named to the second team.
 
Ali, a senior who earns first team All-Atlantic 10 honors for the second straight year, compiled an 18-10 overall record in 2014-2015, 13-4 in dual meets and 11-4 at second singles. She was 2-0 at second singles at the 2015 Atlantic 10 Championships (had one match halted) and 1-2 at first doubles at the championships as she led Fordham to its first ever appearance in the semifinals of the tournament. Ali also teamed with Ellie Ball to win the doubles title at the 2015 NJIT Winter Invitational in January.
 
Wong, a freshman, was 11-5 in dual match action, playing mostly at the third position where she was 9-5. She was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week twice this spring and won the B singles title at the NJIT Invitational last January and won her lone competed match at the Atlantic 10 Championships. Wong also partnered with Julie Leong to go 15-13 in doubles play.
