Box Score Mason, Ohio – The Fordham University men's tennis team saw its 201-4-21-5 season come to an end today with a 4-0 loss to George Mason University in the first round of the Atlantic 10 Championship at the Lindner Family Tennis Center.
Fordham opened the match by dropping the doubles point, losing both completed matches.
Pedro Alonzo and
Joseph Kavaloski fell to Nick Barker and Aaron Capitel at second doubles, 8-1, while
Joey Brander and
J.J. Tauil dropped an 8-3 decision to Daniel Gutierrez and Conor Moran at the third position.
George Mason then won the first three completed singles matches for the 4-0 win.
Max Peara fell to Joe Hill, 6-3, 6-3, at third singles,
J.J. Tauil lost when he was forced to retire at fourth singles and Brander was upended by Barker at the sixth spot, 6-1, 6-0.
