Photo Gallery Bronx, N.Y. – The Fordham University men's tennis had its one and only home match of the spring season which also served as Senior Day. But the Rams couldn't send the three seniors off on a winning note, falling to ASA College, 7-0.
The match opened with the Rams dropping the doubles point. ASA's Callum Poland-Smith and Stephen Watson defeated
Max Peara and
J.J. Tauil at first singles, 8-3, Jack Boling and Shaquille Taylor upended
Pedro Alonzo and
Joseph Kavaloski, 8-0, at the second position, and Diego Alcocer and Rasheed Carey were victorious at third singles over
Joey Brander and
Pol Giraldez, 8-2.
ASA then swept the singles matches in straight sets. Poland-Smith defeated Giraldez at first singles, 6-0, 6-1, Boling ousted
Max Peara at the second position, 6-1, 6-3, and Watson upended
Pedro Alonzo at third singles, 6-1, 6-0.
At fourth singles, Carey defeated Kavaloski, 6-3, 6-3, while Taylor took fifth singles from
Joey Brander, 6-4, 6-2, and Pedro Garcia upended
Harris Durkovic, 6-0, 6-1, at the sixth spot.
The Rams will open play at the 2015 Atlantic 10 Championships on Thursday, April 23, at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio.
