Final Round ResultsMIDDLETOWN, R.I. -- The Fordham men's golf team concluded the New England Division I Golf Championships Sunday with a third-place finish. The Rams shot a 318 to finish with a two-round total of 623 (305-318) at the par-72 Newport National Golf Club, 28 strokes behind tournament champion Rhode Island.
Freshman
Matt Schiller, who was playing as an individual, finished in sixth-place tie on the individual leaderboard after carding a 2-over-par 74 in the final round to finish with a 7-over-par 151 (77-74). Senior
Drew Dufresne finished in a tie for eighth place with an 8-over-par 152 (74-78) and tied for team honors in the team's round score.
Freshman
James Mongey shot a 9-over-par 153 (74-79) to finish in a 12th-place tie as an individual, while senior
Ben Alcorn ended two strokes back with a 155 (74-81), as his score counted towards the team's total.
Sophomore
Oscar Cabanas shot a 6-over-par 78 to finish at 157 (79-78), and freshman
Joe Trim rounded out the team's final round score with an 81 to end the tournament with a 159 (78-81).
Sophomore
Hugh Lagrotteria shot a second consecutive 81 as an individual to finish with a 162, while senior
Jeff Hogan's 84 did not count towards the team's overall round total, as only the top four scores count. He finished with a 167 (83-84).
The Rams conclude the regular season next weekend, April 24-26, at the Atlantic 10 Championships, which are scheduled to take place at Harmony Golf Preserve in Harmony, Fla.
