Photo Gallery The Fordham track & field team made the trek to Stony Brook on Saturday for the Wolfie Invitational. The Rams finished third in the women's competition, while the men tied for fourth.
Overall, the Rams had five event winners and one IC4A qualifier. Fordham also had a total of 22 runners score in the team competition.
On the women's side, Fordham posted events wins in the 400 meter dash, the 800 meter run, and the 4x400 relay.
Danielle Rowe captured the 400 meter dash event in 56.48 seconds, while also scoring in the 200 meter dash, taking sixth in 26.61 seconds.
Elise Tigani (58.45) and
Merissa Wright (58.67) also scored in the 400 meter dash, finishing second and fourth, respectively.
In the 800 meter run, Fordham had a 1-2 finish with
Mara Lieberman winning the event in 2:14.11, followed quickly in second place by
Shanna Heaney in 2:14.49.
The final women's event win was the 4x400 relay, where
Kristen Stuart,
Mia Toffoli, Heaney, and
Elise Tigani posted a top time of 3:55.08.
Other top female performers for Fordham were
Brianna Tevnan, who was second in the 1500 meters (4:41.45),
Kylie Farrell, who was fourth in the triple jump (34' 2"), and
Jessica Farrell, who was fifth in the triple jump (32' 11 ¼") and sixth in the high jump (4' 7").

Sarah Gifford in the 100 meter hurdles (6
th – 18.19),
Sarah Glockenmeier in the 3,000 meter run (6
th – 10:39.33), and
Caitlin Hart in the javelin throw (6
th – 104' 5").
In the men's competition, Fordham's freshmen duo of
Brian Cook and
Nik O'Brien won events on Saturday. Cook placed first in the 3,000 meter steeplechase in an IC4A qualifying time of 9:14.43, while O'Brien captured the 3,000 meter run in 8:52.29. Cook was joined in the scoring by
Adam Schwenzfeier in the steeplechase, as he took third in 10:16.10.
The Rams also had a pair of second place finishes with
Quincy O'Connor grabbing second in the 1500 meter run in 3:58.37, with
Nicholas Regan taking second in the javelin throw with a mark of 182' 3".
Other top performers were
Pat McGuire in the shot put (5
th – 41' 6") and
Mike Turi in the 1500 meters (6
th – 4:03.44).
Fordham also scored in the 4x400 relay, as
Lester Taylor,
Daniel Green,
Fritz Heinrich, and
Randall Turner placed fourth in 3:29.41.
The Fordham track & field team will next be in action at the Penn Relays, which will take place April 23-25.
