Final Round Results BALTIC, Conn. -- The Fordham men's golf team shot one stroke lower Sunday but finished Connecticut's Til Duty Is Done Collegiate Invitational in ninth place after entering the second and final round in sixth. The Rams shot a 22-over-par 310 on the par-72 course at the Mohegan Sun Golf Club to finish with a two round total of 621 (311-310). Hartford, who was the leader after round one, won the event with an 11-over-par 187 (295-292), won the tournament by 13 strokes over the host Huskies.
Senior
Ben Alcorn, who entered the final round in a tie for fourth place on the individual leaderboard, finished in a ninth-place tie (out of 86) with a score of 6-over-par 150 (74-76) after shooting a 4-over-par 76 in the final round, as he shot even-par on all the par 4's. Freshman
Joe Trim carded the best score of the round for the Rams with a 3-over-par 75 and finished with a 154 (79-75), which was good enough for a 21st-place tie.
Sophomore
Oscar Cabanas shot an 82 in the final round to finish with a 161 (77-82), while senior
Drew Dufresne, who recorded one of the three overall eagles in the round, shaved eight strokes off his Saturday score, shooting a 5-over-par 77 to finish at 162 (85-77). Senior
Jeff Hogan's 84 did not count towards the team's final round tally, as he finished with a 163 (79-84).
Fordham returns to the links next weekend, April 18-19, at the New England Division I Golf Championships at Newport National Golf Club in Middletown, R.I.
