Photo Gallery Bronx, N.Y. – The Fordham University women's tennis squad hosted Xavier University today on the Hawthorn/Rooney Courts and fell to the Musketeers, 6-1.
The Rams opened the match by losing the doubles point, dropping all three doubles matches. Xavier's Sydney Liggins and Amina Ismail defeated
Sarah Ali and
Elliesa Ball at first doubles, 8-1, while Lauren Ghidotti and Alex Brinker upended
Bella Genkina and
Carolina Sa at second doubles, 8-0, and Cristina Di Lorenzo and Daniella Patton were victorious over
Julie Leong and
Estelle Wong, 8-5, at the third position.
The Rams picked up their point at third singles as Wong defeated Ismail in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4.
Fordham returns to action on Sunday, April 12, as they host Rhode Island on the Hawthorn/Rooney Courts at 12:00 PM for Senior Day as the five Fordham seniors will be honored prior to the match.
