Members of the Fordham track & Field team were back in Virginia for the third straight week on Saturday at the Mason Spring Invitational in Fairfax, Virginia.

The Rams had competitors in eight events, led by sophomore
Nicholas Regan in the javelin throw event. He was the lone top ten finish for the Rams, as he placed eighth with a distance of 181' 5".

Fordham almost had a second top ten finish with senior
Kristen Stuart, as she placed 11
th in the 400 meter hurdles in 1:03.07.Â
Melissa Higgins also competed in the hurdles, taking 24
th overall in 1:05.89.

In other women's events,
Elise Tigani was the only runner in the 400 meter dash, taking 39
th overall in 1:00.44, while
Mara Lieberman (4:42.17) and
Shanna Heaney (4:46.79) were 24
th and 29
th respectively in the 1500 meter run.
Kristen Stuart was 11th in the 400 meter hurdles on Saturday.Â
In the 800 meters,
Danielle Rowe was the Rams' top finisher in 29
th place (2:15.87), followed by
Mia Toffoli in 39
th (2:19.31), and
Merissa Wright in 40
th (2:19.44).

Over on the men's side,
Lester Taylor finished 18
th in the 800 meter run in 1:53.61, while
Austin Ruiz was also 18
th in the shot put event with a mark of 45' 3 ¾".

The Rams final competitors were a trio of runners in the 1500 meters.Â
Thomas Slattery had the best time of 3:56.36, which was good for 32
nd overall, followed by
Ryan Polo in 38
th (3:57.71) and
Fritz Heinrich in 54
th (4:02.89).

The Fordham track & field team will next be in action on Saturday, April 18
th at the Wolfie Invitational, hosted by Stony Brook.
