Softball Recognized at Yankee Game

BRONX, N.Y. -- The Fordham softball team was recognized Thursday night at Yankee Stadium for winning the 2014 Atlantic 10 Championship. The following was read by the public address announcer:

For the fourth time in five years, the 2014 softball Rams reached a level of success unimaginable in the first few years of Fordham Softball. With her fourth appearance in the NCAA Regionals, Bridget Orchard picked up another tally in her already stellar coaching career at Rose Hill, leading the Rams to their third Atlantic 10 title in four years. Following their conference-clinching victory over Saint Louis at the conference tournament in the Bronx, the Rams traveled to Florida State for NCAA Regional action, before eventually falling to the host Seminoles and South Carolina. The 2014 squad combined a unique mix of upperclassmen leadership and young talent; helping string together the program's 12th straight season with at least 32 wins.
