Box Score Philadelphia, Pa. – The Fordham men's tennis team traveled down to Philadelphia on Wednesday where the Rams were shut out by Saint Joseph's University, 7-0, at the SJU Tennis Center.
Fordham opened the match dropping the doubles point, losing all three doubles matches. Andres Urrea and Kyle Chalmers defeated
Max Peara and
Pol Giraldez at first doubles, 8-5, while Tristan Boustany and Kevin Gates upended
Joseph Kavaloski and
Pedro Alonzo at the second position, 8-4, and Peter Dewitt and Mike Fallone were victorious over
Joey Brander and
Harris Durkovic at third doubles, 8-1.
The Rams then dropped all six singles matches, five in straight sets. The lone match to go to a tiebreaker was first singles where Reiner Moolman took the first set from Giraldez, 6-0, but Giraldez forced the tiebreaker with a 6-2 win in the second. Moolman took the tiebreaker, 10-8.
The Rams return to action on Thursday, April 2, as they travel to Richmond to face the VCU Rams at 9:30 AM.
