Stony Brook's Andruw Gazzola registered the go-ahead RBI-single in the seventh inning, while Teddy Rodliff posted three shutout innings of relief to close out the game, as the Seawolves edged out the Fordham Rams, 6-5, at Houlihan Park on Wednesday afternoon.

The loss drops Fordham to 3-10 on the year, while Stony Brook improved to 4-8.

Things didn't start well for the Rams, as Stony Brook scored three runs off Fordham starter
Donald May in the first inning on three walks, three errors, and a wild pitch.

Fordham quickly responded in the bottom of the frame, as
Charles Galiano crushed a two-run home run to left center for his first of the season.
Â
Stony Brook then got a two-run home run of its own, when Jack Parenty knocked one over the right field wall for his first of the year.

The Rams cut the deficit back to one in the third inning with a pair of runs. With runners at the corners and one out, Galiano plated
Joseph Runco from third with a sacrifice fly. After a balk,
Ryan Mahoney singled through the right side to score
Matthew Kozuch from second.

Fordham then tied the game at five in the fourth inning.Â
Ryan McNally led off the frame with a walk and was sacrificed to second by
Jason Lundy.Â
Joseph DeVito then came through with an RBI-single through the left side to score McNally.

The score remained tied at five until the top of the seventh, where Stony Brook was able to scratch across the go-ahead run. With runners at first and second with two outs, Andrew Gazzola lined a single just over the outstretched glove of Runco at second base, allowing Toby Handley to score from second.
David Manasek threw a season-high 5.2
innings with five strikeouts on Wednesday.Â
From there, Seawolves' reliever Teddy Rodliff held the Rams scoreless over the final three innings to record his second save of the season.

For Fordham,
David Manasek (0-2) took the hard luck loss, allowing just one run on four hits with five strikeouts over 5.2 innings of relief. May lasted just an inning, giving up three runs on three walks, while
Shane McDonald allowed two runs on three hits in just a third of an inning.Â
Cody Johnson finished the game on the hill, posting three strikeouts and allowing just one hit over two innings of work.

At the plate, Galiano was 1-for-3 with a home run and three RBI, while Mahoney was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.Â
Mark Donadio also had a pair of hits for the Rams, and has now reached base in 12 straight games.
