The Atlantic 10 Conference announced its weekly track & field awards on Tuesday, and Fordham's
Titi Fagade (Rutland, Mass.) and
Lester Taylor (Suffield, Conn.) were honored as the Women's and Men's Co-Performers of the Week.
For Fagade, it is her second weekly honor of the year and the fourth of her career, while it is the second straight weekly award for Taylor.
Fagade had another record breaking performance at this weekend's Terrier Classic in Boston. She placed second in the 800 meters in a school record time of 2:06.56, which is currently the tenth fastest time in the nation this year. She also helped the 4x400 relay earn a fifth place finish in an ECAC qualifying time of 3:47.66.
Taylor also posted a school record performance in the 800 meter run at the Terrier Classic in Boston. He finished fifth overall in a record time of 1:50.64, besting Brian Schmidt's 2011 time of 1:50.81. He later joined the 4x400 relay team to post a season-best time of 3:24.69.
Fagade, Taylor, and the rest of the Rams are back in action on February 5-6, when Fordham takes part in the 2015 Metropolitan Indoor Championship. Day one events, which include the pole vault, weight throw, women's pentathlon, and part of the men's heptathlon, will take place at Fordham's Lombardi Center Fieldhouse, beginning at 11:00 AM. Day two events will take place at the Armory Track & Field Center.
