ResultsCompetition at the 2015 Atlantic 10 Championship has concluded at URI's Mackal Fieldhouse in Kingston, Rhode Island, with the Fordham Rams taking ninth in the team competition.
Rhode Island captured the team title for the fourth times in the last five seasons with 203 points, followed by George Mason in second with 199. Saint Joseph's took third with 111 points, followed by VCU (94), Davidson (44), Massachusetts (36), La Salle (34), Saint Louis (29), Fordham (28), and George Washington (0).
Fordham scored in five events on two day, beginning in the mile run, where
Jonathan Annelli placed in seventh overall in 4:15.86.
Brian Cook finished just outside the top eight, taking 11
th in 4:23.11, while
Thomas Slattery was 16
th in 4:24.91.
The next scoring event for the Rams was the final of the 800 meter run, as
Michael Campbell placed eighth in 1:59.44, while in the 200 meter dash,
Ian Williams took seventh in 22.67 seconds.
Over in the field events,
Austin Ruiz scored in the shot put, posting a career-best mark of 50' 1 ¾", which was good for fifth overall.
The last of the individual events for Fordham was the 3,000 meter run.
Nik O'Brien was the top finisher in 11
th place at 8:38.74, followed by
Mike Turi in 15
th (8:47.93) and
Jake Duckworth in 18
th (8:55.22).
Finally in the relay events, Fordham placed fifth in the 4x800 relay in a time of 7:52.11, while the 4x400 relay placed ninth in 3:30.95.
