Photo GalleryDay two of the 2015 Atlantic 10 Championship is in the books and the Fordham women's swimming team was on the rise at the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
The Rams moved from sixth place on Wednesday into a tie for third place with Davidson at 170 points. Massachusetts still leads the team scoring with 219 points, followed by Richmond's 192. Duquesne has 163 points for fifth, followed by La Salle (142), George Mason (131), Saint Louis (91), Rhode Island (75), St. Bonaventure (50), and George Washington (33).
The first scoring event on day two was the 500 freestyle, where
Megan Zarriello qualified for the "A" final. She ended up sixth overall in a personal-best time of 4:53.56.
Next was the 200 individual medley, where the Rams had four swimmers in the finals. First,
Morgan Fairclough earned 12
th overall as a part of the "B" final in 2:04.87, while
Theresa Goehring was 14
th in 2:06.06. In the "A" final,
Megan Polaha captured her second career Atlantic 10 title, taking first place in a school record time of 2:01.31, which was also an NCAA "B" qualifying time. Kelly Carrol also scored eighth in the "A" final in 2:05.30.

Shannon Lulley at the 2013 Atlantic 10 Championship. Lulley would not wait long to get her name back in the Fordham record book, as she garnered Second Team All-Atlantic 10 honors in the 50 freestyle in a school record time of 23.06 seconds, breaking Brienne Ryan's 2012 record of 23.18 seconds.
Lulley was joined by her sister,
Chandler Lulley, in the "A" final, as Chandler earned sixth place in 23.39 seconds.
The final event on day two was the 200 freestyle relay, where Fordham's team of
Shannon Lulley,
Megan Gray,
Erin McBride, and
Chandler Lulley earned fifth place in a school record time of 1:33.96, breaking the 2013 record of 1:34.76.
The Championship continues on Friday at 10:00 AM with preliminaries in 400 individual medley, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke, and three-meter dive events with the finals at 6:30 PM.
