Christian Sengfelder Named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week

Newport News, Va. (February 16, 2015) – Fordham University freshman forward Christian Sengfelder was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week for games played from February 9-15, it was announced by the league office today. It is the second consecutive, and fourth overall, A-10 Rookie of the Week award for Sengfelder and the sixth for the Rams this year.
 
In his first game on the week, Sengfelder recorded his second double-double of the year, scoring 12 points and adding ten rebounds in a loss at Richmond on Wednesday night. He followed that with a 15-point, nine-rebound effort in a 69-55 win over Saint Joseph's on Sunday in the Rose Hill Gym, shooting 6-for-9 from the field and 3-for-4 from behind the arc.
 
For the week, Sengfelder shot 52.6 percent from the field (10-of-19), averaging 13.5 ppg and 9.5 rpg along with recording three steals, two blocks and two assists.
 
On the year, Sengfelder is averaging 11.1 ppg, third best on the team, and 7.2 rpg, second best on the squad.
 
The Rams (7-16, 2-10) return to action on Wednesday, February 18, as they travel to Fairfax, Va., to face the George Mason University Patriots in the Patriot Center at 7:00 p.m.
