Atlantic 10 Release Bronx, N.Y. - Fordham University freshman guard
Joseph Chartouny was named Atlantic 10 Co-Rookie of the Week for games played from December 14-20, it was announced today. The award is the second straight and third overall honor for Chartouny.
In a 70-53 Fordham win over Maine in the Rose Hill Gym on Saturday, Chartouny scored a season-high 21 points and he added a season-best seven steals along with seven rebounds and three assists.
On the year, Chartouny is averaging 10.0 ppg and 6.4 rpg while recording a team-high 52 assists to go with 25 steals. He leads the Atlantic 10 in assists (5.2/game) and is tied for the lead with teammate
Mandell Thomas in steals (2.5/game) while also ranking ninth in assist/turnover ratio (2.4) and tied for 15th in rebounding.
The Rams, off to a 9-1 start - the best start since 1970, return to action on Tuesday night, December 22, as they travel into Brooklyn to face Boston College in the Barclays Center as part of the Atlantic 10/ACC Challenge at 3:30 p.m.
