Press Release

Bridgeport, Pa. – Seniors Andrew Gonzalez and Patrick Lenihan were named 2015 ACWPC All-American Honorable Mention on Saturday after terrific campaigns for the Fordham water polo program. This is the first national recognition for both players.

The duo competed in all 35 contests this season and finished with similar numbers.

Gonzalez's 45 goals were second-most on the squad and the Glendale, California native was able to net at a 46% clip. Lenihan scored 43 times on 103 attempts (42%). Both seniors assisted on 29 others. Gonzalez and Lenihan's play shone especially in extra-man situations with 23 and 18 goals, respectively.

Gonzalez tallied a career-high five goals in a tight game against eventual Northern Division champions Brown in late September and a terrific defensive game against Iona on November 8 was capped with a career-high three blocks.

Lenihan was able to match a career-high five goals in a win over Occidental in early October and tallied a hat trick of assists for the first time against George Washington on September 13.

The Rams finished its 2015 campaign by placing ninth at the CWPA Championship.
