Follow on Twitter Bronx, N.Y. - The Fordham University Rams continue their 2015-2016 season, the 113th season of varsity basketball at Rose Hill, by hosting the Coppin State University Eagles in the historic Rose Hill Gym on Sunday, December 13, at 1:00 p.m.
The game will be streamed live on the Atlantic 10 Digital Network with Mike Watts (p-b-p) and DJ Sixsmith (color) announcing and can also be heard live on WFUV (90.7 FM) and on www.wfuvsports.org with Matt Moro (p-b-p) and James Decker (color) announcing. Follow the links above.
Sunday afternoon's contest will be the first ever meeting between Fordham and Coppin State on the hardwood. Fordham is 6-3 all-time against schools currently in the MEAC.
Notes• The Rams are off to a 7-1 start in 2015-2016, the best start for a Fordham team since 1971 when the Rams also opened the season 7-1. The last time the Rams opened a season 8-1 was in 1970-1971.
• The current seven-game Fordham winning streak is the longest since 1990-1991. The last eight-game winning streak for the Rams was in the 1990-1991 season (Fordham won 14 straight that year).
• Senior guard
Mandell Thomas enters the game with 1,206 career points, moving him ahead of Jermaine Anderson (2002-2006) and Steve Samuels (1980-1985) and into 20th on the Fordham all-time scoring list. Thomas is 12 points behind Jason Harris (1997-2001) for 19th on the list.
• With his six rebounds in the LIU Brooklyn game, forward
Ryan Rhoomes brought his career total to 694, moving him ahead of Charlie Yelverton (1968-1971) and into 12th place on the Fordham career rebounding list. Rhoomes is four behind John Coalmon (1958-1961) for eleventh on the all-time list.
• The 2015-2016 Rams have scored 80 or more points in a game in five of the past six games after surpassing the 80-point mark just twice all of last season. The last time Fordham scored 80 or more points in a game in five of six games was at the beginning of the 2000-2001 season.
