Atlantic 10 Release Bronx, N.Y. - Fordham University freshman guard
Joseph Chartouny was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week for games played from November 22-29, it was announced today. The award is the first weekly honor for Chartouny.
In a pair of Fordham wins on the week, Chartouny averaged 13.0 ppg and 9.5 rpg while dishing out nine assists and adding two steals. In an 84-58 win over Colgate on Tuesday he recorded a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds while in Saturday's win over Manhattan, Chartouny netted 13 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
On the year, Chartouny is averaging 10.0 ppg and 5.8 rpg while recording a team-high 26 assists to go with ten steals. He is fourth in the Atlantic 10 in assists (5.2/game), fifth in steals (2.0/game and seventh in assist/turnover ratio (2.4).
The Rams, off to a 4-1 start - the best start since 2000, return to action on Wednesday night, December 2, as they host the St. John's University Red Storm in the Rose Hill Gym at 7:00 p.m.
