Edmonds & Widmann Earn Zipcar Performers of the Month for October

Pair of Rams Continue Dominant Fall Season

Much like the opening five weeks of the 2015-16 Fordham Athletics calendar, sophomore running back Chase Edmonds and graduate student midfielder Jessica Widmann continued their impressive play on the field, as they were named the Zipcar Performers of the Month for the second time this year.

Edmonds had an incredible October, rushing for over 1,000 yards and scoring 15 total touchdowns.  The Patriot League's leading rushing opened the month with 234 yards rushing and two touchdowns at Lafayette, and then added five total touchdowns and 230 yards rushing in a win at Pennsylvania.  In the Rams' next game against Holy Cross, Edmonds rushed for 162 yards and scored four times, including the game-winning touchdown in overtime.  He saved his best performance toward the end of the month, racking up a school and Patriot League record 347 yards rushing to go with four touchdowns.  Needing one yard for the record, Edmonds broke off a 73-yard run touchdown run to set the record on his final carry of the game.

Widmann notched 14 points over her final 13 games of the season, as she helped lead the women's soccer team to the Atlantic 10 championship game for the third time in team history.  The midfielder scored five goals and added four assists to end the season, finishing the year with 12 goals and five assists for 29 points.  She was selected First Team All-Atlantic 10 and was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Championship team by season's end and became the second women's soccer player to be selected to the CoSIDA Academic All-American Team, joining Leah Jerome in 2006.
